The Latin Vulgate spelling of ave for 'bread' in the Roman Missal is used. Even today, in periods of liturgical reform, there is no universally accepted standardization of language. In this missal the correct spelling of the Latin word for 'bread' is first, second, third and so on.

Thomas Morr, was born on 13 June 1920 in Würzburg, Bavaria. Morr studied at the University of Vienna, where he earned his Ph.D. degree in 1949. He taught dogmatic theology in a Bavarian Catholic high school from 1952 to 1955. From 1955 to 1960 he taught dogmatic theology (dogmatikum). Morr studied church history in Munich at the University of Munich where he earned his Licentiate of Theology degree in 1961.
Morr was in his late twenties when he became professor of dogmatic theology at the Catholic University of Eichstatt-Ingolstadt. As he was teaching dogmatic theology there, he spoke out about the Church’s teaching on abortion and euthanasia, and about the painful “crisis of truth” in modern teaching.
